Then the home town heroes went to their season long strength, the bullpen. Brandon Workman (winning pitcher), Franklin Morales, Junichi Tazawa, Craig Breslow, and Koji Uehara combined for 5 innings and allowed 2 runs in a 7-6 Red Sox win.

Pacing the Red Sox offense was Jacoby Ellsbury (2 runs 2 rbi stolen base), David Ortiz (2 hits 3 rbi) and Steven Drew rapped a home run.

The Pale Hose were led by Alexei Ramirez (3 hits stolen base), Paul Konerko (2 hits 1 run 1 rbi), and Tyler Flowers ( home run, single.
