Young Native American children where given these to use as a rattle. This a very interesting plant on two fronts. It produces a lot of rattling seeds pods, and the fern like leaves fold up when touched! Easily grown from seed. This though as nails plant will adapt to just about any growing condition. Pretty much carefree after established.
