AAA Plus TIFFANY Stone Slab, Bertrandite, Opalized Deep Purple FLUORITE Slab

Gorgeous Bertrandite Tiffany stone opalized fluorite thick slab from Colorado, yes Colorado. It is rare to find it opalized here but it does exist and this was thrown in with a huge estate lot of slabs I purchased. It was collected locally during a gem club field trip and he had buckets of it although most was crystal fluorite in purple and green with some yellow banding. This beauty is dark purple - like the crayon with lighter areas like a lilac or lavender. This one weighs 4.8 ozs or 136 grams and measures 4 1/8" x 2 7/8" x .27" thick. It has tiny lines, pits or vugs but after seeing other specimens of Tiffany stone at a recent show, I guess that is normal. I did see healed fractures. I haven't cut or polished this before so don't know if you have to stabilize it or not but it is probably a good idea. It cut just fine and is 200 times better than the photos show, especially the color. The cream color mix makes a superb pattern and veining, sure to produce some killer cabs.
