Navy straw vintage hat white nylon sash vintage hat 1940 era

This is a vintage hat probably dating to the 1940's. It is made of what I think is a synthetic straw like material in a deep navy color. The underside of the brim is cream. There is a white nylon sash around the brim. This has the remains of tag on the inside but the tag only says "23 MSC." It has a circumference of about 21 inches along the bottom of the brim but the hat sits high on the head. This probably had a face veil but there is no evidence where one was attached. This is in good condition and would make a great costume hat.
