It details the history and geography of the country and the benefits to both the US and the Philippines of US custody. Map of the Panama Canal and one for the lock system. Frontispiece is a photograph of the Church of San Francisco, Panama. Volume I of a two volume set American possessions. This volume includes sections on The Great Antilles, Porto Rico (sic)(Puerto Rico), Guam, Hawaii, and Panama.
Volume 2 deals with Philippine Archipelago (Philippine Islands). Frontispiece is a photograph of Manila Bay and also has a photo of Honorable William Howard Taft, First Civil Governor of the Philippines. This book includes a general description, the inhabitants, early history, passing of Spanish dominion, American Administration, commerce, agriculture, public lands timber & minerals etc, Manila (old and new), Luzon, the Visayas, Mindanao and Sulu, Vital Issues & an index.
