Chervil is a delicate herb very closely related to parsleys and is often used as a sweeter substitute. Usually used in French cooking, its flavor has been described as aniseed like and does well with meat and seafood dishes. Although it’s not much in the way of being a huge medicinal herb, it has been known to aid in digestion.
Growing Instructions: For best results seeds are best sown directly into the ground due to the taproot sometimes being difficult to transplant. Chervil should be kept cool and moist otherwise it tends to bolt. The plant responds well to cutting, allowing for repeat harvest and helps it from going to bolt. Because of its tendency to bolt when it gets too hot, chervil usually does best in a shadier location (more so in hotter zones).
