This terrific game allows practice utilizing prepositions and the statement, "The gingerbread boy is __________." A wonderful way to connect the winter season with grammar!
What is Included:
* 12 picture cards,
* 1 basic direction page,
* writing or recording sheet, and
* the option to have pictures with a pink background instead of white.
How This Game has Been Applied
Students have been asked to write the preposition for each picture. Then, they take turns forming and stating the sentences aloud when encouraged to do so.
The game has been displayed in various parts of the room to create a type of treasure hunt feel, placed at desks and played as Scoot, used as literacy centers, etc.
This activity has been successfully applied to small groups, one-on-one, and whole group settings. Partners and small teams or groups can add an extra element of fun and implementation!
Various age groups have enjoyed this in the classroom, in tutoring groups, and online.
Possible, Virtual Adaptation:
You can show the students the pictures (one at a time is usually better for very young children) and allow them to time to form and/or write the sentence. Then, they can state it and/or the location of the gingerbread. Written work can also be shown or sent to you.
Please note: This will be e-mailed to the address given at the time of purchase. Thank you!
