Vintage Slingerland Drum Set.
1950's-1960's Era
Sizes Are:
Bass Drum: 12 X 22
(Aquarian head is NOT included, a Remo WeatherKing Pinstripe, good condition will be included)
Small Tom: 8 X 12
Floor Tom: 14 X 14.
Snare is NOT Included.
The Top heads haven't been played much.
They are all Remo Emperor Colortone in smoked Grey.
The bottom heads on toms were just put on new, all new, they are Evans G1
(Drum heads alone, not including the Aquarian SuperKick cost around $150.00 before tax & Shipping)
The Tom Mount and Arm are a Steve Maxwell reproduction.
Bass drum was a virgin drum and had to be drilled for mount.
Lugs for Bass Drum are Single Tension, meaning the lugs do not have springs in them, and the tension Rods run Through
the lugs, and only the side with The T's can be tightened.
Also, the legs are Slingerland but were drilled for them as they had clamp on legs.
No other holes were drilled from what I can tell, except what looks like 3 in bottom bass drum shell that were filled in.
Floor tom has internal muffler, 12" tom does not, but has holes, covered by wrap.
The 12" Tom was a clamp on and was drill for Tom Arm.
The wrap was from precision drum company, Black Onyx.
Wrap Alone Cost 250.00 before Tax and shipping cost.
The wrap job is pretty good, tight, but somebody shaved some of the wrap edges around
the 12" and floor tom to accomodate newer heads. can't be seen with heads on.
The bass drum shell wasn't shaved at all.
The bearing edges look good, and drums seem in round.
No cracks or damage to shells that I could tell.
The shells are all Mahogany with Maple Reinforcing Rings.
The lugs all look good.
The hoops look to be original Slingerland, in very good condition.
A magnet will NOT stick to them, so they probably Chrome over Brass.
A very Nice set.
