Bob Gibson (1935-2020) – aka "Hoot" or "Gibby" – was one of the most ferocious, dominant pitchers of his era, playing his entire big league career with the St. Louis Cardinals from 1959 to 1975. His career stats of 251-174 won-loss record, 2.91 ERA and 3,117 strikeouts earned him induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1981. A nine-time All-Star and a two-time Cy Young Award winner, Gibson earned two World Series rings (1964,1967).
