The fuzzy-leaved bush produces about a 1/2 to 1" inch sweet/tart berry with smooth orange skin, resembling a Tomatillo. The taste has been described as a combination of strawberries, pineapple, and even a little peach flavor. The Fruits are used raw or cooked, in salsa, pies, cakes, jellies, jams, ice cream, over meat dishes or salads, garnish and dried into golden raisins.
