RARE Pyrex 053-OR-653-B Casserole w/ Upturned Tab Handles w/ Lid & Buffet Server First appearing in 1921, square Pyrex casseroles were produced in two distinct generations. Handles on 053/653 casseroles are rectangular with an upturned angle. No other casserole shape uses handles like this. Dish by itself measures 7" x 7" x 3" Tall. With the lid it measures 5¼" Tall. In the Buffet Server, it measures 6¼" Tall. Good to Very Good Used Vintage Condition. All glass is slightly yellowed with age. Some minor staining in the crevices like the numbers for example. Bottom dish has no chips, nicks, cracks or breaks. Top lid has a flake chip in one corner, as shown in image #10. No hazing, lime, calcium or hard water deposits on either the dish or the lid. Some minor scuffing & scratching here & there, as to be expected. The Buffet Server is fairly distressed, with scuffing & scratching throughout and oxidation evident in the nooks & crannies, most prominent around the handles, but no bends or dents.
