This fighter aircraft was seen in many theaters of war, including the Pacific, where it carried out one of its most significant operations the interception of Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto. Although this P38 Lighting variant could not overcome Japanese fighter planes when it comes to low-altitude flights, the Miss Virginia aircraft had a more powerful firepower that enabled US ace pilot Dick Bong claim 40 victories with the P-38G.
