Airplane USN Lockheed P3C ORION Maritime Patrol 12 " Wood Model Aircraft The P-3C Orion military aircraft is a maritime patrol aircraft manufactured by Lockheed-Martin for the United States Navy in 1960s. The P-3 Navy was powered by four turboprop engines and manned by 11 crew members on board. The P-3C Orion made history with a speed record for turboprop-powered planes of 501 miles in 1971. It is used as reconnaissance aircraft particularly to detect submarine in the sea via its very distinct Stinger tail. It was equipped with state-of-the-art radar capable of maritime surveillance.
