Willow Tree Duet Triptych Hinged Box

Proclaim your true love or celebrate the love of a couple dear to you with the Willow Tree Duet Triptych Hinged Box. Presented in a different style than most Willow Tree items, but with all the same love and high quality craftsmanship, the full name of this piece is Duet: Our Love Song.

On the outside, what appears to be a simple box with hinged doors is inscribed with just barely indecipherable handwriting that seems to suggest love notes. At the center, an ornate golden heart displays a bird carrying a flower. When the doors open, two young lovers are revealed, carved in relief amid a swirl of flowers and love birds. The inside of the left door reads, "You are..." while the right door completes the sentiment: "my one true love."

Like all Willow Tree pieces, Susan’s original sculpture of Duet was sent to a factory in China to be cast in resin that exactly captures each of her knife marks. The resin is cured, and each piece is individually hand-painted.

This lovely piece can be displayed open or closed on a tabletop or hung on a wall by the built in hanger. Like all Willow Tree pieces, Duet captures a moment in time and expresses all the emotion associated with it through artist Susan Lordi's exceptional talent for gestural sculpture. The artist expressed her feelings for the piece like this: "I see Duet as a very personal gift, like giving a piece of jewelry; something small and treasured."
