Macadamia Nut Oil - 16 fl oz
This nut is borne by a very ornamental, broadleaf, evergreen tree which is native to Australia and introduced into Hawaii. Light yellow in color with a mild flavor it improves facial lines and aids is skin moisture retention and is expeller pressed. Macadamia Nut Oil is more stable than almost all other vegetable oils due to low levels of poly-unsaturated fatty acids. This oil has rapid skin penetration, leaves a velvety feel and is suitable for use in a wide range of personal care formulations. It is a priceless delight for the skin and has proven itself to be one of the best regenerative oils available.
It is high in monounsaturated fatty acids, and closely resembles sebum (the oil naturally produced by ones skin to help protect it). Macadamia oil is a fabulous, protective oil with a high absorption rate and has been successfully used as a healing oil for scars, sunburns, minor wounds and other irritations.
A highly emollient oil, Macadamia Oil provides moisture for dry skin. The oil, has a good resistance to rancidity. Yellow in color with a mild aroma.
Macadamia oil, has a high concentration of palmitoleic acid which is a naturally occurring fatty acid produced by the sebaceous glands. This production decreases as we age making the inclusion of Macadamia oil in products for mature and dry skin particularly important. Macadamia Nut Oil is comprised mostly of triacylglycerols that contain monounsaturated fatty acid units (80 percent) and contains natural tocopherols.
