An aging, taciturn farmer finds his predictable life unraveling after his eldest daughter announces that is getting a divorce, and that she needs his help in order to keep up payments on her house in the city. Gaby's farm has been in his family for generations. He always said that the farm should be passed down to his children, not sold. But when Gaby's daughter Marie shows up at the farm in desperate need of money, the old man longs to protect her, even though he senses she is taking advantage of him.
