On October 28th, 1994, Sparks recorded a session for BBC Radio 1 FM to promote the album, Gratuitous Sax and Senseless Violins. A few months later, they returned to Radio 1 to record an interview and take part in a phone-in with fans, during which they played “unplugged” versions of requested songs. Also included is a 40 minute recording of the band live at the Mile End Stadium, supporting Blur, in 1995. Songs performed are: Let’s Go Surfing, Beat The Clock, Number One Song In Heaven, Never Turn Your Back On Mother Earth, Get In The Swing, This Town Ain’t Big Enough For Both Of Us, When Do I Get To Sing My Way, When I Kiss You (I Hear Charlie Parker Playing) Amateur Hour, Something For The Girl With Everything. 74 minutes.
