PASSIONFLOWER - USES: Nutritive, Sedative has a particular affect on the nervous system because of this it makes an effective aid in insomnia, various forms of nueralgia, spasms, exhaustion, mental fatigue, anxiety, palpitations, and perhaps above all else the ability to mediate, and heal from, the effects of shock. However, the last person willing to use me will benefit from me the most. Meaning someone...or some child, resisting relaxation. Pairs well with lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) as they are both great at cooling the overheated, overanxious, and slightly nervous individual, both work well as a tea, and doesn't taste bad either. This combination also works well with EBV infections. In a tincture, we work well to allay the anxiety associated with this debilitating chronic infection while improving sleeplessness, but also to help protect the mitochondria from damage caused by the virus. When paired with Valerian, Epileptic attacks were said to be aborted if the injections were given as the indications of the attack approached. The leaves are antimicrobial. Utilized for belabored breathing, nervous headache, intermittent fevers, pneumonia, painful ulcers. Traditionally, my root was used internally as a diuretic and a vermifuge, and topically for boils, wounds, and earache. It has been know to induce labor.
