This SL3B-L interface by Vais Technologies is a state of the art product that allows you to connect your Android or Apple device via Bluetooth, provided it supports Hands-Free Profiles (HFP), and wirelessly stream audio. Check the literature for your phone to determine if yours has this feature. The vast majority manufactured after 2010 support HFP.
Integration with iOS devices includes browsing by Playlist, Artist, Album, Genre, Audiobook, and Podcast for 5th Gen navigation systems. Older Gen navigation systems (and radios without navigation) will allow browsing by song title and playlist, provided the radio supports text. (See more on this below.)
Integration with Android devices allows it to display text information as well as allow basic control using your factory radio.
The SL3B-L interface supports 3rd Party Music Players and Internet Radio streaming over Bluetooth. It will allow you to listen and display info from supported apps like Pandora, TuneIn Radio, Rdio, Slacker, Spotify, Livio Radio, iHeartRadio and etc, while being paired with your iOS or Android device.
This connects to the back of your factory radio. The cable that connects it to your radio is a T-harness, so it has a plug to allow you to retain the factory plugs currently connected to the radio. (DVD player, etc) The interface will not be visible from inside the car. There is a USB port on it that supports charging only. You would need to provide your own USB cable to use it. We do offer a dash-mount USB kit that would allow you to extend the plug so it is easier to access. Please email if you need more information on that item.
The SL3B does NOT support Bluetooth calling features. It is for wireless audio streaming ONLY. If you're looking for something to make and receive calls in your vehicle, this will not work!
This works in CD Changer (CDC) mode or MP3 mode (some 5th gen nav systems.) Some radios don't support text in CD Changer mode. Please see the Application Chart attached to this listing as a photo for details on how it will operate in your vehicle with your radio.
The 'Text' column of the application guide (attached as an image) has values of N/A, Yes and No. N/A means the SL3B-L is not available for your vehicle/radio combination. We recommend you visit the vaistech website if you have additional questions regarding text display or any other feature you would like information on.
