According to the official website, the Nottingham Goose Fair has been held annually since at least 1284 when the Charter of King Edward I mentions a fair in Nottingham on the feast of St. Matthew. Originally it would have been a country fair where geese and other livestock were sold. Today it is a huge traveling fair with over 500 attractions for both tourists and locals.
This little plate (4.75 inches in diameter) is a limited edition made by Timeless China, Nottingham. It is made of white china with a transfer of the fair in brown and rimmed in gold. The plate has no damage of any kind.
