The 2000-S US Mint Clad Proof Set includes 10 coins encased in two clear plastic lenses – one containing the five state quarters released in 2000 and one containing the other denominations. The two protective lenses are further packaged inside an outer protective sleeve featuring the Statue of Liberty.
2000 United State Mint Proof Set
All of the coins in the 2000 Clad Proof Set include an “S” mint mark, indicating they were produced at the San Francisco branch of the U.S. Mint. Also inscribed on the obverse of each coin is “LIBERTY” and “IN GOD WE TRUST”.
The set includes the five 2000 releases in the 50 States Quarters(r) Program, which were “MASSACHUSETTS 1788” (featuring a Colonial Minuteman), “MARYLAND 1788” (featuring the Maryland Statehouse), “SOUTH CAROLINA 1788” (featuring the state bird, flower and tree), “NEW HAMPSHIRE 1788” (featuring a natural rock formation known as 'The Old Man of the Mountain') and “VIRGINIA 1788” (featuring three ships bringing settlers to Jamestown). In addition to the state name and year it became a state, each coin's reverse is also inscribed with the release year “2000” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM”. The familiar George Washington design is on the obverse along with “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “QUARTER DOLLAR”.
The other denominations in the set are the “ONE CENT” (Lincoln), “FIVE CENT” (Jefferson), “ONE DIME” (Roosevelt), “HALF DOLLAR” (Kennedy) and “ONE DOLLAR” (Sacagawea) coins. In addition to the denomination of the coin, “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” is also inscribed on the reverse. Obverse inscriptions include “LIBERTY”, “IN GOD WE TRUST” and “2000”.
