Livvy Rodgers is the single mother of seventeen-year-old twin girls, Hennesey and Alize. At age thirty-three, Livvy decides to become a registered nurse. In order to afford to go to school, she needs to move to a smaller apartment - and push both girls out of the nest. Hennesey has her eyes set on the future, with plans to study pre-med in college. She's in a strong and supportive relationship with Rafe, an ex-con who was just released from prison. Rafe took the rap for his old friend, Smoke, and went to jail for drug possession. Now a free man, Rafe wants nothing do with his old friends and street life. Alize, on the other hand, is her mother's concern. Perfectly comfortable sponging off others, Alize has no direction in life. She does, however have an unusual plan for self-sufficiency - to steal from unsuspecting rich boys who pick her up at clubs. In a weird twist of fate, one of Alize's first victims is none other than Smoke. Once robbed, he's bent on revenge . . .
