A bumblebee jasper oval sterling silver pendant with sharp yellow, orange, and black colors complemented with a 6mm black round faceted cubic zirconia. The pattern of this stone is very organized with clear horizontal lines separating the different vibrant colors. This cabochon was purchased from the Tucson Gem and Mineral show and was mined from the island of Sumatra in Indonesia. The pendant length from top to bottom is 2.75 inch, width is 1.13 inch. Bumble bee Jasper is silicon dioxide mineral containing sulfur, hematite, ilmenite and other mineral inclusions. It is also referred as fumarolic Jasper.

Bumblebee Jasper has become more and more popular at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show. It is an orange to yellow and black rock that comes from Volcanic vents on the islands of Indonesia and the supply of this stone is limited. It is surmised that it is not actually Agate or Jasper, although some pieces may look like agate or jasper; it is a mix of minerals in a matrix of volcanic tuft. Regardless, they all have great patterns and colors! This particular specimen in my listing comes from the island of Sumatra.
