"It is my unpleasant task to inform you, that when you and your men awaken, Planet Earth will have been extinct for centuries. It is in this wa that Captains Adonis, Hyperion, Dionysus and Eros learn the fate of their home, and thenature of their mission in space....As a participant in the game of Power Trip, you, become one of the last survivors of the Planet Earth. Deep in space, you and your opponents must seek to occupy the stars. Survival will depend on your knowledge of life on earth. The Launching Edition includes four Log Books, each containing six categories of information:

Art & Literature
Science & Technology
History
Geography
Entertainment
Sport & Leasure
Phase one or Stellar Occupation involves luck and strategy and serves to place all players on the board regardless, of age or level of knowledge. Phase two, The Challenge is played with the Log Books and is designed to test your recall on one or more of the six categories. Play proceeds by selecting your area of interest and proving your knowledge of the facts. The questions are not simple, but then neither was life on earth and the aim of Power Trip to explore this planet to the fullest.
