These needles will fit most holders and come in a choice of3 sizesThe star needles have 4 sides and more barbs for faster felting and crown has barbs only on the tips for finishing and smoothing out the fuzzies As a guide to the different gauges available, the bigger the number, the finer the point of the needle. 32 is used for basic felting, making forms and bodies and is adequate for coarse and medium wools. 36 and 38 are a general all purpose size, 40 and 42 is used for finishing and detail work and for the very fine wools. Fine wool requires a fine needle to prevent 'holes'. Rubber tipped needles do NOT fit a holderFelting needles are very brittle.If used incorrectly, they may bend or break. For best results, always use the needles at right angles to your work and use a good foam base under your work.
