It is as close to plug-and-play as one could hope for. The only trouble I had during set-up was due to my own lack of knowledge of networking (which has been amended on-the-fly!). The connections are very straightforward and easy to understand. I had it up and sharing a DSL connection in a few minutes, and networking across two different Windows platforms (XP and 98) within the hour. The only delays were because the security protocols were overly tight, so my DSL modem, router, and local machines did not want to talk to each other (ZoneAlarm doesn't trust anything until you tell it to!). Very easy to resolve once I figured that out! The on-board web-based controls and firewall logging are fantastic and easy to use. The integrated print server (which was the main selling point for me) is fast, simple, and works flawlessly from the get-go. I have heard many users complain about print servers in other brands of router/switch combos.
