You get three of the item pictured.New and never used. Overall diameter is a large 1/2 inch thick. Overall length is over 2 feet long (28+ inches). This is a big thick cable lock. The advantage of cable over ordinary steel bar type lock is that bolt cutters need a nonflexible surface. When bolt cutters (used by bike theives) try to cut a cable lock, the wire mesh in the cable "gives" and bends and is resistent to being cut. Personally, I have seen bolt cutter cuts in the plastic covering on my cable; but they could not get the cutters to cut the cable itself. Be careful, you will find cables that need the key to close the lock. When you open the lock you use the key. But, when you close a lock it should not need the key. Just push it closed. It is aggravating to have to use the key again to lock the lock. The lock guts are brass so it will not rust and seize. Cable is long enough to wrap around the front tire, frame and a traffic sign pole or other fixed object to lock your bike to. Could also be used to lock a boat to a dock eye; or lock two swinging gates together. The uses are endless.
