Description
The Dynex DX-M200 modem is an external dial-up modem, enabling the user to dial in their internet provider from any phone line. While high-speed internet is common for many, dial-up internet access remains a viable option, particularly in rural areas. The Dynex modem allows both fax and data transfer. A 56K modem may not be adequate for heavy internet surfing or downloads, but is adequate for email or simple file transfers. A built-in power management utility in the Dynex DX-M200 reduces the battery drain on any computer. This 56K modem plugs into a PCMIA slot on a Windows 98, XP, NT, 2000 or ME powered computer. The Dynex DX-M200 includes a phone cable and installation disk. All the user will have to do is install the Dynex modem by plugging it into the available PCMIA slot on the computer. Then, they must Insert the installation disk when prompted. Once this is connected, the computer must be connected to any working phone jack to use the dial-up modem. This modem can keep an older notebook or computer connected to the outside world, particularly if wireless internet is not available.
