Long E Tree Sort is a literacy center or game to practice sorting long e words according to different spelling patterns. The patterns are ei, ie, ee, ea, and e or e-consonant-e.
The included parts are:
cover page,
directions to use as a center with picture prompts (two choices),
word cards,
sorting mat,
answer key and
student sort sheet.
There is a black and white and colored version of each page EXCEPT for the center directions and cover page.
This can be used in several different settings.
To use this as a center, you may want to print the sorting mat, the word cards, the directions, and the answer key on card stock. Then, cut out the word cards and place in the center (after reviewing the directions and/or practicing with the student(s) or class).
To use as one-on-one practice, you may want to print only a sorting mat and word cards for the student on card stock since you will be assisting the student and some parts, such as the directions, may not even be needed.
To use as practice for a small, teacher led group you may want to print word cards and a sorting mat for each student OR use one as a group.
This can also be used for partners or even in a whole group, classroom setting!
Related Common Core Standards: RF.2.3, RF.2.3a, RF.2.3b, RF.2.3c,RF.3.3, RF.3.3c
