She is the author of thirteen books including Tara Road, The Copper Beech, The Lilac Bus, Circle of Friends, Echoes, and Light a Penny Candle, and has been writing for The Irish Times since 1969. Binchy and her husband, Gordon Snell, live in Dublin and London.
