I found this unique container and am not even quite positive what it is! I've been told it could be a thermos holder or a chart/map holder.
Either way, it is a fascinating vintage item. Made of leather, lid removes by simply sliding off, measures 13 1/2 inches tall, 4 1/2 inches across. The leather will need some cleaning and the interior (although cracking) appears to be holding up fine.
