Victorian Stone Marble Driveway Markers/Post

Beautiful carved white marble entrance markers. Post look to be around 1860-80's. Marble is showing nice age. They can be cleaned up to their original white marble with veins of grey running through. A pressure washer will clean this marble right up. Marble is showing existing patina which includes black mildew. These should be thoroughly cleaned and sealed. The feet are footed, above the feet is a Greek pediment resembling a roof line. These post are about as classical in design as you can find. They are in good condition with a few minor chips and scratches. The chips and scratches will be very tough to see once cleaned up.
The square top is removable. Has copper stud that sits in hole of the base (see photos) this aligns top and bottom and keeps top from moving.
One side on each post originally butted up against something. The marble was scribed to a perfect fit. see photos. They only removed about a half inch of material and it comes up on a angle. The square top lends itself as a support for statuary or nice cast iron flower pot etc. These post bases would would make great entrance markers for a backyard, a pool area, a patio, walk way or driveway.They are in very good condition for their age.
