Joan Miro, a Spanish master artist, created works in many medias - sculpture, ceramics, tapestry, paintings - and graphic artwork in lithography, and etchings with aquatint and carborundum. His work was classified as Suurrealism, but had a childlike appeal, based in part on his early Catalan beginnings. Today, his works are displayed in museums and galleries all over the world, and sell for anywhere between $250,000 and $17 million.
