Easter Greetings
Leather postcards were produced from mainly deer hide and designed using a process called Pyrography
They were produced from 1903 to 1909 when they were banned by the Postal Service because they were too bulky and tended to jam the automated cancel machines
Leather postcards were sometimes made with punched holes around the entire border
These holes were used to lace raw hide strips through to form a group of postcards into a pillow top
The holes at the outside edges were laced with long strings of raw hide to form a fringe and complete the pillow look
