Expect outstanding timbral clarity from the Tesla voice coils& driver arrays with an especially precise tone in the mids/highs, along with a well-controlled yet fully satisfying bass response. Perhaps slightly brittle-sounding right out of the box (just like its full-size $1,300 T1 and T5 brethren), we feel about 250hrs of 'burn-in' play-time is likely needed for the T50p to nicely break-in, warm up and sonically perform at its very best. The earcups offer a true supraural ('on-ear') fit and will rest comfortably directly on the earlobes for most wearers. The luxuriant soft leather pad cushions on the T50p cups help providerespectable isolation from ambient noise and alsoexcellent wearing comfort, meaning this is one small-sized headphone that nearly all audiophile listeners will find something to cheer about. The Beyerdynamic T50p have a highly distinctive machined aluminum construction that's nothing short of spectacular. Completely rotateable earcups allow the headphones to store flat in their provided case for ease of transit and/or storage. The aluminum headband is ultra-light, leather-padded underneath for long-wearing comfort, very sturdy-looking and provides secure 10-step sizing adjustment detents for an easy proper fit on all heads. The T50p's very lightweight double-sided 'Y'-cord exits from both earcups and terminates in mini-plug 3.5mm jack ideal for iPods, iPads and MP3 players; a full-size 1/4" plug adapter is handily included by the manufacturer. The T50p's total cord length is 1.2 meters (nearly 4 feet), just about the perfect size for mobile listening without dreaded cord tangling. The clarity is really very impressive, with excellent instrument separation and wide soundstage for a closed back portable headphone. Bass response is well defined and punchy - much less warm and fuzzy than the B&W P5. The T50p's sound signature is no surprise when compared with the rest of the Beyerdynamic line up. We are big fans of the Beyer sound. The headphones themselves weigh very little and the headband has a soft leather pad that runs over the top of the head to keep the headphones comfortably in place. The T50p is an on-ear design, but pressure is actually quite light and the pads are soft. Not as comfortable as a fully over ear (circumaural) headphones, but a lot more practical for using out and about. Compared with the B&W P5 the Beyer T50p is a little less soft on the ears (the P5 has large, flat, ultra soft ear pads), but we don't see comfort being a major issue with the T50p."Quoted from Head-Fi Forum Review"Icompared the T50p to the T1 from the Burson HA-160 amp. While the T1 ultimately has a more superior technical performance, its musicality is not very good, lacking a little warmth and midrange body. The T50p is more favorable in terms of musicality, having a less hot treble, slightly warmer sound, and more midrange and bass body than the bigger brother. I also played some female vocals on the T50p and found the T50p to have more body on the vocals than the big brother. Very good indeed. In my experience, it’s easier for a closed headphone to have more low end and midrange body than an open headphone, and that’s probably the biggest reason that the T50p has more body than the T1. Yet, headphones with fuller low end body often also have less precision in the bass areas, and that’s what I’m hearing here too. The T1 has a much better control and focus on the bass than the T50p. Keep in mind that the T1 is still superior in terms of overall technical performance, and these comparisons are just for the sake of giving a picture of how the T50p sound."Quoted from Headfonia.com First impressions Please read out Terms and Conditions before buying it.
