Thunkers are closed-cell foam sparring broadswords covered in duck cloth (canvas.)

This is an extra-large two handed Thunker for great reach and clout.

A Thunker is a sparring broadsword designed for maximum domination with minimal damage. It is not designed for an authentic sword-like appearance such as many LARP-ers desire, but it is great for actual contests of physical strength and skill.

Thunkers are designed with closed-cell foam around a core of PVC Pipe. The foam has very little give so your opponent will not feel the pipe. We have been using these swords for years and can attest to their good design.

Unlike many closed-cell foam sparring swords that are skinny and bring all the impact to a single point on the skin, Thunkers are broad and spread the force of your blow over a larger area, making for less bruising.

We've used our own Thunkers in battle for years and they are still holding together beautifully. They are constructed of high-performance adhesive and tape, and covered by a 10-oz duck cloth (basically, black canvass.)

Thunkers are created for live-action combat games like Belegarth or Swordfish. They can also be used by two brothers in the back yard trying to knock each other off a log or out of a kiddie pool. For more information, look up "Swordfish Arms" on Etsy or Wordpress.

These Thunkers have blade length of 30-33 inches, with shorter handles and less weight (around 1- 1.5 pounds.) Size varies slightly because of the production process.
