Thisis a SunTour MicroDrive 8-speed cassette. Cassette is brand new, never used or mounted. I kept this as a spare since SunTour cassettes are no longer available. This cassette isfrom SunTour's 8-speed MicroDrive groups. The 3 SunTour groups that used this cassette are XC-Comp, XC-Expert, and XC-Pro. There may be others, but those are the ones I am sure use this cassette. SunTour exited the US market shortly after the 8-speed groups were introduced, so these cassettes are scarce. No other manufacturer has stepped up to make compatible parts. Shimano cassettes will not work on SunTour hubs. Conversely, this cassette won't work on Shimano hubs. Cassette has the following cog sizes: 11-12-14-16-18-21-24-28. The smallest 2 cogs thread onto the freehub to hold the rest of the cogs in place. Cassette is a beautiful silver color and has modern ramps and shaped teeth for flawless shifting, even under load. Cassettes are consumable items on bicycles, thus do need replacing periodically. Always install a new chain when installing a new cassette. If your bicycle uses this cassette, keeping a spare is prudent since nothing else will work and these cassettes haven't been made in over 15 years.
