The solenoid sits further from the exhaust and since it has no field windings, and uses permanent magnets, it will start your vehicle better under high heat conditions. This is considered a "no shim" starter which makes for quick and easy installation.

Replaces starters with the staggered mounting bolt pattern as in the picture below.
