"Dans un article recent publie dans cette meme revue (1) M. Boolsky a donne une theorie du defaut d'equilibre du balancier. Bien que ce probleme soit definitivement resolu, tout au moins en premiere approximation, depuis un siecle par les travaux d'Edouard Phillips (2) je voudrais montrer comment le formule d'Airy permet d'obtenir une solution aussi rapide qu'elegante et rectifier certaines inexactitudes contenues dans l'article precite. F. Keelhoff avait utilise systematique, et l'on sait avec quel success (3), la formule d'Airy."
