Known as the trickster, Loki is the Norse God known for sewing discord, chaos, and mayhem with his actions. He is the father of Hel, the wolf Fenrir, and the world serpent Jormungandr, as well as Nari and the eight-legged horse Sleipnir. Though it should not be forgotten that he sometimes aided the gods, Loki is far more remembered for the problems he caused them, particularly his role in causing the death of Baldr, after which he was bound in the entrails of his own son and left beneath the dripping venom of a serpent as punishment.
Within this bust he is portrayed as a fierce figure, with broad shoulders and a stern, strong jaw revealed beneath a skull-shaped helm. The helm is further accented with ram-like horns, culminating to give him an ominous presence, while the chaos wheel that serves as a broach for his mantle speaks of the discord that he sews.
The bust measures 10" tall and 8 1/2" wide, and has been sculpted of cold cast resin.
