After a long search, they did finally find one small container of such oil, which was only enough for one day of burning. They still decided to light the Menorah and then, they witnessed a miracle - the Menorah burned for eight days straight, which was enough time to make more holy oil. As a tribute to this great day, Chanukah is celebrated for a total of eight days straight!
