This is a rare, Karin Heller 'James' doll in excellent condition! He is marked number 12 of 1000 on his foot. He has his leather backpack, including the 3 paper accessories and pencil inside his backpack, but is missing his red shoes and green mittens.
Karin Heller dolls are one of the the premier cloth dolls made in Germany during the 1980's. Made in very limited numbers these dolls are a real find for a collector that loves finely crafted cloth dolls.
Karin Heller made about 2 dozen different dolls with natural cotton fabrics. The doll itself as well as each piece of clothing is tagged and original (see pictures). They have human hair wigs and finely painted features.
James measures approximately 18" tall.
