Bay Area bad boy, Ya Boy, has gone from being virtually unknown to being E-40's latest protege, to being a Black Wall Street representa alongside The Game, to being signed to Akon's Konvict Muzik record label, in only 6 years time. That's a lot of recognition and respect from a lot of heavy hitters in the game, and Ya Boy deserves every bit of it. Ya Boy hasn't dropped as many mixtapes as a lot of artists, but the ones he has dropped are known for being more "street albums" than mixtapes due to their high-quality production and original songs. "The Fix" is another top-notch mixtape featuring enough exclusive new music to be considered an album, and has more replay value than most retail albums coming out these days. As usual, Ya Boy does his thing on a mostly solo tip, with only a couple featured artists making appearances on the 20 blazin' tracks. The Fix is, hand-down, one of the hottest mixtapes to drop in years, on the West or any coast, and it's definitely not to be slept on. Cop yours while you still can!
