Obviously we love modern design as much as the next person. But what about the person who prefers classic design? After nearly 100 years we thoughtit was time to reintroduce this American classic. The reasons why? A little bit of nostalgia for the good ole days of early Americana and ingenuity as well as a desperate need for a CD player and radio that didn?t clash violently with classic home dcor.Remember the movie "Back to the Future"? The hero didn't quite fit in when he got whisked back in time. If a portable CD player seemed out of place with the wild styles of the 1950's just imagine what today's stereo would look like in VictorianEngland. You get the idea. You may have furniture that would make Teddy Roosevelt feel right at home. But just picture Theodore reaching over to listen to that UFO inspired silver plastic stereo sitting on your Louis XVI buffet. Not a pretty image. Juststroll the aisles of your local electronic store and you'll see the difficulty in finding a radio that fits in with pre 20th century home dcor. Of course we kept the basic concept of Edison?s original design intact. But instead of a phonograph weinserted a CD player and AM/FM Radio. We also added a remote control. And finally the one thing that brought back all the old memories? An incredibly recreated, handmade wooden case. The interior has the appearance of the original right down to the builtin lamps and tuner knobs. Now you can enjoy the look and feel of an original Edison design but with today's modern convenience.
