Unique Shaped Deep Emerald Green Decorative Art Glass Bud Vase-Chatham Glass Co.-SIGNED
This is such a uniquely shaped tall rose vase that you need to add to your collection. You don't see this style very much. I believe that stored in a glass cabinet with a light shining on it would really bring out the lovely coloring of this emerald glass.
Is an elegantly shaped tall vase that is ribbed shaped all around. It does taper off at the bottom, and also at the top. At the top is a smaller cut-out hole where you would place your single to triple flower decoration. The space at the top measures about 7/8 inches in diameter.
In EXCELLENT CONDITION ~ No breaks, No chips, No cracks. Appears unused.
At the bottom the glass is marked in silver lettering and SIGNED: Chatham Glass Co. 2001.
In researching this company the artist that created this glass art is by: Jim Holmes. He creates one of a kind sculptural pieces of contemporary art glass, since 1987. His work is highly revered and is represented in many museums and private collections, including the Smithosonian's Renwick Museum, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Corning Glass Museum. His studio is located in the Cape Cod area in Massachuetts.
I believe this particular art glass vase is from his * Jewel Bud Vase Series * which began in 1990. At that time this was priced approximately $150.00 each.
