Bill Smith (Kris Kristofferson) is an FAA crash investigator trying to sort out the mysteries of his latest crash. The crash itself can be explained, but the co-pilot’s ominous last words of “My God, they’re all dead!” elude him. There are also other inexplicable oddities about items found from the crash. At the same time, the equally mysterious Louise Baltimore (Cheryl Ladd) appears in his life. Louise is a time agent from the distant future. In the future the Earth has been ruined and people can no longer have children. The time agents take people from accidents where they are about to die and bring them back to the future to save humanity. One night, Bill finds a piece of future technology that can cause a paradox so big that it will wipe out Louise’s future and possibly the only chance for humanity.
