Here is a great find! A vintage McCalls Pattern # 6940 Transfer for Cross Stitch, and Cutwork Design Patterns Circa 1963.
Design for Household Linens and other items. The cross stitch has 3 stitches to an inch that are suitable for Towels, Tea Cloths, Pillowcases, Sheets, Curtains (non-sheer), Aprons. This pattern contains 5 transfer pieces and 1 leaflet. Includes 2 each of five Cutwork designs 21-1/2" long, plus matching scallops for Designs B, C and D; 2 each of five Cross Stitch Designs: A...14 inches long; B 21-1/2 inches long (with matching scallop); C a pair each 15 inches long; D rose 12-1/2 inches, plus 4 strips of 3/8" wide borders 21-1/2 inches; E 17-1/4 inches. Leaflet contains instructions for adapting these designs, Cross Stitch Color Charts with six-strand cotton brand names, and color numbers, embroidery directions and details, etc. Each design will stamp about 3 times to trim 3 pairs of pillowcases or 2 pairs of pillowcase and a pair of single sheets, depending on texture of fabric.
The pattern is about 90% uncut.
The envelope shows some wear and creases from age and storage.
