Victorian Trade Card - Arbuckle Brothers Coffee Company - FOX HUNT, gathering the hounds
SERIES: Miscellany - Unnumbered (aka: General Subjects, General Interest, Artistic, etc.)
This is one of 100 miscellaneous unnumbered cards advertising the "Ariosa" brand of coffee that Arbuckles' issued in the late 1880s. This card features a scene which I presume precedes a fox hunt, with a group of brown and white dogs gathering around a man decked out in a red coat and black hat and boots sitting on a brown horse.
The back carries Arbuckles' familiar "4 Points" sales pitch.
SIZE: 3" x 5"
DATE: Undated (but probably 1888 or 1889)
LITHOGRAPHER: Geo. S. Harris & Sons
CONDITION: Very good+, I'd say. This card is lightly soiled with just slightly worn edges and corners. There's a tiny "ding" in the bottom edge and the year "1890" is written in pencil on the back. (Please see scans.)
MULTIPLE ITEM SHIPPING DISCOUNT: I will ship up to 4 cards for the single base shipping charge shown. For purchases of more than 4 cards, the shipping charge will increase by just a small increment for every 4 additional cards.
