Offered for your private collection is this magnificent antique majolica plate.
It is marked with a stamped "U" which stands for the Utzschneider majolica factory and was probably the first trademark used by this factory in Sarreguemines between 1790-1830.
This beautiful majolica plate features an ornate rim trimmed in greenish-brown with the center showing a fabulous bird, maybe a robin getting ready to eat a dragonfly.
It has a high gloss and deep rich colors!
It is in excellent condition for its great age with no chips, cracks or repairs! I only see one rim glaze flake and three stilt marks on the back from the kiln, all normal and expected for antique majolica.
It measures 7.75 inches in diameter.
We also have one in cream, collect them both!
Add this to your personal collection today or give as a fabulous and unique gift!
