This is a fine reproduction of the magnificent painting Upland Plover 1825, an excellent masterpiece created by John James Audubon, which has now been printed on Fine Art Canvas.
Description of the Artwork. Audubon made this painting of the Upland Plover in Louisiana about 1825. One plover is reaching for a snail. The large plant at right is a toadshade Trillium sessile or Trillium cuneatum. Also known as Bartramia longicauda.
About the Artist. John James Audubon (1785–1851) was a French-American ornithologist, naturalist, hunter, and painter. He painted, catalogued, and described the birds of North America in a form far superior to what had gone before. In his outsize personality and achievements, he seemed to represent the new American nation of the United States. Audubon was born in Les Cayes, Haiti (then the colony of Saint-Domingue in the Caribbean) on his father's sugar plantation.
ABOUT OUR FINE ART CANVAS PRINTS. Our Canvas Prints are crafted to last for many years of enjoyment. This unique heavyweight quality canvas enhances our fine art reproductions. All our Canvas Prints come protected with a FREE coating against UV light, incidental water contact, atmospheric contaminants, and even fingerprints, while maintaining the original look.
